On Thanksgiving Day 1971 members of the Murray House Gang first used the Murray House as a skiing getaway. Charlie Leonard owned the MurrayHouse (which was named after its original owner Frank Murray whose Ghost haunted the place, and whose money was never found.)  Tony Stoya, who had been in contact with Tom Strong and his wife Sheila Leonard, both of whom went to St. Johns with us, made the original arrangements to rent the Murray House. Charlie Leonard was Sheila's father. Charlie, as you know, was an Irish immigrant and a retired New York City Cop. He affectionately became known to us as  "THE OLD MAN"

On Thanksgiving Day in 1971 Charlie Leonard was 57 years old................
